The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced, skilled and detail-oriented Structural Designer/Drafter with CAD and REVIT experience. He/she will have drafting experience in a wide variety of structural areas including buildings and with a wide variety of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, cold-formed metal framing and will work collaboratively with all employees in both offices of the company, including the Sr. Associate (Philadelphia) and Senior Engineering Manager (Nashville). He/she will be involved in the documentation aspect of a project to develop high-quality and detailed structural drawings. This position also involves updating/establishing drafting standards for our growing Philadelphia office.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s/associate’s degree or equivalent certification in Drafting, Design, Architectural, Civil or a related field.

• 5 years of design drafting experience including a minimum of 3 years of building structural drafting experience.

• Proficiency in REVIT and CAD required.

• Strong understanding of construction detailing and familiarity with building code requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBLITLIES:

• Develop structural designs and detailed drawings using REVIT and AUTOCAD.

• Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and sketches.

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to address design challenges and incorporate changes.

• Maintain project files and manage drawing revisions throughout the project life cycle.

• Update existing and establish new CAD and REVIT company standards as required.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and deliver projects in time to ensure client satisfaction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Solid drafting skills with buildings structures.

• Experience working with a wide variety of materials including steel, concrete, wood, masonry and cold-formed steel.

• Comfort in working with staff to determine needs and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.

• Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Problem solving approach to all tasks.
